How can I transfer my iTunes library?
I’m looking to move my music library (downloaded mp3′s and music purchased from iTunes store) to a new computer – playlists, album art, licences and all.
I have an external harddrive available, but no DVD RW and do not want to buy or use additional software to transfer the music.
How can this be done?
Sadly I do not have a working CD drive with which to burn anything. (one of the reasons for the new computer!).
Do I then have to authorise my new computer to play my purchases?
Go to My Music and copy the iTunes folder and all of its contents. Then put these files on your external hard drive. Next plug the HDD into your new computer and copy the iTunes folder to your Music folder (make sure it overwrites the old iTunes folder) and open iTunes. Hope this helps!
